OntarioDrive ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at ontariodrive.app. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

We collect minimal information to provide the service:

• Search queries — highway numbers or city names you enter are sent to our server to fetch road condition data. We do not store these permanently.
• Location data — if you grant permission, your device's approximate location is used to show nearby highway conditions. This is processed locally in your browser and never sent to our servers.
• Usage data — standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be retained briefly by our hosting provider (Cloudflare) for security and performance purposes.

2. Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser local storage (not cookies) to save your recent searches and favourite highways on your device. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

If you have AdSense ads enabled, Google may use cookies for advertising purposes. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

3. Third-Party Services

OntarioDrive uses the following third-party services to operate:

• 511 Ontario — road condition data provided under the Open Government Licence – Ontario. No personal data is shared with 511 Ontario.
• Google Maps Platform — used for route planning and geocoding. Queries are sent to Google's servers. See Google's privacy policy.
• Open-Meteo — used for weather data. No personal data is shared. See Open-Meteo's terms.
• Cloudflare — used for hosting and performance. Cloudflare may collect standard web traffic data. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Google AdSense — we display ads served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and device identifiers to serve personalized ads. You can opt out at adssettings.google.com.

4. How We Use Your Information

• To provide real-time Ontario highway road conditions
• To plan routes between Ontario cities
• To display relevant weather information along your route
• To improve the performance and reliability of the service

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

We do not maintain a user database. Search queries are not logged on our end. Any data held by third-party services (Cloudflare, Google) is subject to their respective retention policies.

6. Children's Privacy

OntarioDrive is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your Rights

Since we do not store personal data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete on our end. For data held by third-party services, please refer to their respective privacy policies linked above.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
